Update 10/2/2024
Great news! There is a new menu. Bad news, they still did not update the cauliflower entrée. for $24, I would love to have more than 100 calories and 2$ in cauliflower. There is a new salad: Grilled Polk County Vegetables (Quinoa, Charred Lemon, Tahini Dressing) which is possibly vegan. And a possibly vegan dessert of brulee grapefruit.
Update 7/31/24
The Terrace Grille has updated their menu. The have removed the tomato salad and the radish crudité. The brussels sprouts appetizer is vegan minus the honey.
The cauliflower steak remains the only vegan entree. I was hoping they would have opted for a new entree as I do tired of eating the same thing over and over.
Original Post:
Hello vegans! I love The Terrace Grille downtown, and I’m excited to share the scoop on their vegan offerings.
**Top Vegan Pick: Cauliflower Steak**
– The star of their vegan lineup is the Cauliflower Steak. Grilled to perfection, it comes with Chimichurri Sauce, Crispy Garbanzos, and Cauliflower Puree, all for $24. They used to have a vegan Mushroom Ravioli in cream sauce. I appreciate the chef innovating and keeping the vegan option current.
**Dessert Scene**
– Currently, the dessert menu doesn’t have a vegan option. They can give you a fruit bowl. Hopefully, this changes in the future.
**Special Requests Welcomed: Salads and Mushrooms**
– A big thumbs up for catering to special requests. I asked for Hen of the Woods Mushrooms cooked in oil instead of butter, and they delivered a dish that was absolutely delightful. Highly recommend. I have also ordered The Hollingsworth Salad (ask for a fish free dressing) and heirloom tomato salad, both without cheese, and they were delicious. The Radish Crudite is nice without the goat cheese.
**Menu Clarity Online: Dietary Transparency**
– Kudos for keeping it clear online – their menu specifies items with dairy and gluten, making life easier for those with specific dietary requirements.
**French Fries FYI: Vegetarian, Not Vegan**
– The French fries – are tagged as vegetarian, not vegan. Just a little something to keep in mind while placing your order.
**Overall Atmosphere: A Class Act**
– Beyond the fantastic food, The Terrace Grill offers a classy ambiance, top-tier service, and the added bonus of a downtown location that elevates the overall experience.
The drinks and mocktails are delicious, too.
In summary, The Terrace Grille is a gem for vegan options downtown. It’s a place where quality shines through in both the food and the overall dining experience. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s definitely worth a visit.
