Sora

Sora Eatery at the Lakeland Linder Airport has officially replaced the previous restaurant here (the name is escaping me right now). They serve breakfast and lunch, and sometimes they’re open later depending on the day.

As a vegan, I was genuinely excited to see tofu on the menu, so I ordered the Vegan Tofu Crispy Rice Bowl. On paper it sounds so good: crispy fried rice topped with sautéed veggies (onions, bell peppers, carrots), tofu, sesame seeds, spring onions, and a sauce.

Here’s the problem. The tofu wasn’t crispy at all. It was completely soft, and the whole bowl was intensely salty. Not “a little salty” salty. Fully inedible.

It’s a bummer because the rest of the food being served around me looked really good, and I wanted this to be a win, especially at an airport spot where vegan options are usually limited. I also noticed in Google reviews that they apparently used to have a vegan smash burger, and honestly I would have chosen that over this bowl in a heartbeat.

So if you’re vegan and thinking about stopping here, I personally wouldn’t recommend it based on the tofu bowl experience. If you do go, maybe ask if they can make it less salty or if there’s another vegan option they can do well. But as-is, this one was a no for me.

I also had a latte but it tasted like it was made in one of those airport pre-made machines. Not very good. The staff was lovely and did a great job making us feel welcome.
