February 2025 Update
The menu has changed! There is now a cauliflower steak on the dinner menu and a Summer salad on the lunch and dinner menu, (Berries, Candied Pecans, Cran Raisins, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Purple Onions). The burger is gone.
I asked if the cauliflower steak was vegan but it could not be confirmed.

Vegan Delights at Fresco’s Southern Kitchen and Bar
Fresco’s Southern Kitchen and Bar has pleasantly surprised me with its thoughtful inclusion of vegan options, showcasing a commitment to catering to diverse dietary preferences. My recent visit had me diving into their Chopped Salad, a refreshing medley of Kale, brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, tomatoes, almonds, cran raisins, and chickpeas. It’s heartening to find a salad on the menu that is vegan without any modifications.
While the salad was a tasty venture into plant-based goodness, I found myself wishing for a bit more bean protein to enhance its filling quality. A small adjustment that I believe could elevate the salad to a more satisfying level. I did find myself hungry on the drive home.
The dressing, while flavorful, proved to be both sweet and sour simultaneously. For those who prefer a more controlled dressing experience, I’d recommend requesting it on the side during your next visit.
Fresco’s vegan offerings don’t stop at salads; they extend to a Vegan Impossible Burger featuring lettuce, tomato, onion, green tomato relish, and avocado. This option is next on my list to try, and I’m eager to see how it stands up to the plant-based burger standards.
Overall, Fresco’s Southern Kitchen and Bar is making commendable strides in offering diverse and flavorful vegan choices. With a welcoming atmosphere and a menu that reflects a genuine effort to cater to all dietary preferences, it’s a noteworthy spot for those seeking satisfying plant-based options in Lakeland. I look forward to exploring more of their vegan offerings on my next visit!
