My Vegan Dining Experience at Bay Street Bistro in Lakeland, FL
Hey everyone! I recently had an amazing vegan dining experience at Bay Street Bistro in Lakeland, FL, and I’m thrilled to share the details. The restaurant’s ambiance is cozy and intimate, featuring charming exposed brick walls. During my visit on a bustling weeknight, the service was top-notch.
Let’s dive into the vegan options
**1. Vegan Rolls without Butter:**
– Starting with the vegan rolls, it’s important to note that they are indeed vegan, but you’ll need to enjoy them without the butter.
**2. Vegan House Salad:**
– The House Salad was very good and I would order it again.
**3. Melanzane Primo without Cheese:**
– The Melanzane Primo Requested with No Cheese. It was flavorful and hearty. The generous portion of veggies made it a filling and satisfying choice. Unfortunately, unlike the meat entries, the Melanzane doesn’t come with a starch, because “it already has a lot of vegetables”.
**5. Vegan Dessert Options:**
– Unfortunately, there aren’t any vegan dessert options.
We called ahead to inform them about our vegan preferences. While the service was excellent, the server had to check the vegan status of the rolls and salads. It would’ve been more convenient if this information had been readily available, especially given the advanced notice.
In conclusion, Bay Street Bistro offers a warm and inviting space for vegan diners. The flavorful dishes, cozy atmosphere, and attentive service make it a standout choice for a delightful vegan dining adventure. If you are looking for an upscale, yet casual option, definitely give it a try!

The House Salad
The dressing is very zesty and flavorful. Definitely better than your typical house salad. We were told that this salad is vegan by default.
