Pinata

Piñata Brings Vegan-Friendly Mexican Food to Lakeland!

I had such a positive experience at Piñata, a new Mexican restaurant in Lakeland!

First of all, they actually label vegan options on their menu! This is a huge win and something I always appreciate when dining out.

One thing to know: the chips and salsa are not labeled vegan, but you can request the green salsa instead of the red, which the staff confirmed is vegan. And let me tell you, the green salsa is absolutely incredible! It’s creamy, spicy, and packed with flavor. I honestly couldn’t believe it was vegan, but the staff assured me it was. It was easily my favorite part of the meal!

I also loved their homemade tortilla chips. I know some people prefer the thinner restaurant-style chips, but I’m a fan of hearty, homemade chips, and these were delicious.

For my entrée, I ordered the mushroom tacos. I’m not usually a big mushroom person, but I thought the flavors were really good.

They also have a fruit bowl on the menu that I’m looking forward to trying on my next visit. Even better, the staff mentioned that they’re planning to add more vegan options soon!

Overall, this was a really positive experience. Between the clearly labeled vegan dishes, the helpful staff, and that AMAZING green salsa, I’m excited to go back and see what they come up with next.

Polk Vegan Tip: Ask for the vegan green salsa with your chips.
